Image Editing Overview Link

The image editing functionality allows you to make changes to an image directly within the platform without needing to use an external image editor. From here, you can adjust how an image looks, resize or crop it, and control how your changes are saved, either by updating the original file or creating a new one.

How to Access Image Editing Link

You can open the image editor in several different ways, depending on what you’re doing:

  • Select an image in the file browser and click the "crop/resize" button.

  • Double-click an image in the file browser.

  • Click the "crop/resize" button on an existing image in the image upload component or in the rich text editor.

Image Editor Layout Link

The image editor is divided into three main areas. Options on the left, controls along the top, and actions along the bottom. Each area focuses on a different part of the editing process.

Left-Side Options (Image Adjustments) Link

The left side of the editor contains tools used to change the appearance or structure of the image. These options typically allow you to:

  • Adjust the image size or dimensions.

  • Crop the image to remove unwanted areas.

  • Modify visual properties such as brightness, contrast, or similar settings.

  • Add filters to the image.

  • And more

These tools affect how the image looks and are used before saving your changes.

This will allow you to manually resize the image however you want.

At the bottom, you are able to type in the width (w) and height (h) that you would like your image to be.

At the bottom there are multiple options for colored and black and white filters that you can scroll through. 

Finetune

Finetuning the images

This will allow you to change the brightness, contrast, saturation, exposure, temperature, gamma, clarity, and vignette of an image. Click on those options at the bottom to do this.

Frame

At the bottom you will be able to choose a frame to put around your image.

Redact

Redacting part of an image

Redacting is blurring out a selection section of an image. You can do this by dragging your cursor over the section of the image that you want to be redacted.

Top Options (View and Editing Controls) Link

The options along the top of the editor let you rotate the image, flip it horizontally or vertically, and choose a crop shape. As shown in the image below, the "Crop shape" dropdown provides multiple preset shapes you can use to crop the image.

In the top-right corner, you can either save the edited image as a new file or replace the existing image. Below those options, you can cancel to discard your changes, or click "Save Image" to apply and save the edits.

Bottom Options (Editing the images) Link

The bottom of the editor is where you decide what to do with your edits after clicking on an option on the left side. This area includes:

  • Typing in the size you want your image to be (resize).

  • Viewing and choosing filter options (filters).

  • Etc.
