The City of Fairbanks, Alaska, needed a new website that was easier to manage, customizable, and more feature-rich than their old website.
The team at the City of Fairbanks, Alaska, reached out to us because they were frustrated with their website. Their old website was powered by CivicPlus, a Drupal-based municipal CMS. They had experienced bugs, bad upgrades, and costly fixes. The website was hard to manage and not flexible. A recent update had broken the ability to add MP3 files for their board meetings.
They found us from one of our other municipal projects, the City of Revere, MA.
We designed and built a new custom website for them. They have since received positive feedback from other city employees and the community. The new website has the following features:
- More support for media like videos, MP3 files, and better image support.
- Calendar for city and community events.
- Blog for news and updates.
- An interactive map to show city building locations.
- Site-wide search.
- Custom apps for posting resolutions and ordinances.
- The Boards app to manage their boards, board members, and meetings.
- RFP app to post and accept bids on RFPs.
